Black olive tapenade

Black olive tapenade, or paté, is very quick and easy to make.  It makes a wonderful aperitif accompanied by bread-sticks, or slices of rustic bread.

Ingredients

  • 200 g pitted Black Olives 1 1/2 cups
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 40 g Capers 2 Tbsp
  • 3 Anchovies
  • 5 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice optional

Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend them until you have a smooth mixture.
  • Serve as an aperitif with crusty bread or bread-sticks.
  • Tapenade will keep for up to 5 days in the fridge.
